Bento Containers Bento is all about packing home made lunches. Getting all the food into a container so that you can enjoy it during lunchtime. Therefore it is necessary to have a correct type of container for such purpose. However it is not necessary that a Bento Container be used for this purpose. Any containers that serve this purpose can be use as Bento containers Choosing a Bento Container Bento containers come in all kind of shapes and sizes. Some are made of plastic others are made of stainless steel. Some comes with multiple containers, some with multiple layer of container, some are just a simple looking box and many others comes with cute shapes and sizes. Whatever the shape and sizes it or type is, there's no specific specification that is require to use as a Bento Container. A Bento Container can be as simple as a simple box container that can be commonly found in most kitchens. Therefore do not be too enthusiastic in getting the perfect looking Bento Container. However when choosing a Bento Container, it may be good to consider the following Leak proof Is good that the container is leak proof. You do not want any liquid inside the box to leak out and stain your bag or hands. If the box you are using is not 100% leak proof, you can try putting the container in a seal bag. Easy to wash Most Bento Containers from Japan are not suitable for dishwasher; you are required to wash it with hands. Therefore choose a container that is easy to wash and clean. Else look for dishwasher friendly containers. Microwave safe For those who want to reheat their food with microwave, it is important to know whether the container can be use with a microwave. Note that most Bento Containers from Japan are not microwave safe. This is simply because Japanese usually eat their lunch cold. Correct Size The Bento container should have the correct size to accommodate enough food for your consumption. Kids may choose a smaller Bento container while adult may choose a bigger Bento container.
